Compassion in Action 831 Inc is honored to support our next recipient, Michael Rozen.

For the past 12 years, 44 year old Michael Rozen has been fighting a relentless battle against aggressive metastatic thyroid cancer. His journey has been marked by countless challenges, including five surgeries and two rounds of radiation. Most recently, Michael underwent another surgery in July, continuing his fight against this devastating disease.

Due to the debilitating effects of his illness, Michael has been unable to work since April, leaving him facing not only the physical and emotional toll of cancer but also the financial hardships that come with being unable to earn a living.

Perhaps one of the most heartbreaking parts of Michael's journey has been the sacrifice of leaving behind his three sons in Texas. When doctors there could no longer offer him further treatment, Michael made the difficult decision to come to California in search of hope and a chance to keep fighting.

Now, after exhausting the treatment options available in Salinas, he is being referred to Stanford for further evaluation and care.

Michael describes his cancer as something that never truly goes away. Even after surgeries and radiation, the disease continues to follow him, requiring ongoing treatment and an unrelenting fight.

Michael's story reminds us of the incredible strength it takes to face each new day while living with a life-threatening illness, separated from loved ones and uncertain about what lies ahead.
