About our candidate

Compassion in Action 831 Inc is honored to support our August recipient, Lupe Ortiz.

At just 51 years old, Lupita is facing one of the greatest challenges of her life. She has been diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney disease and is currently receiving dialysis treatments twice a week. These treatments are essential to keeping her alive, but they have also taken a tremendous physical and emotional toll.

Each day, Lupita battles extreme weakness, fatigue, and anxiety caused by the uncertainty of her illness. Because of her condition and ongoing treatments, she is no longer able to work, creating additional financial stress during an already difficult time. Despite these challenges, Lupita continues to fight with courage, hope, and faith. Now, she needs the support of her community more than ever.

You can support Lupita by registering through the link below and helping us raise funds to assist with her medical expenses and daily living needs.

Thank you for keeping Lupita in your prayers and for opening your heart to help. Together, we can bring hope, comfort, and strength to her and her family during this difficult time.

🌿 Health & Hope Corner

πŸ’¬ Encouragement

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

🌱 Wellness Tip β€” One Day at a Time

When facing illness or caring for a loved one, focus on today rather than tomorrow. Celebrate small victories, rest when your body asks for it, and remember that healing is a journey, not a race.

🍎 Nutrition Advice β€” Nourish Your Body

Choose nutrient-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains whenever possible. Eating small, balanced meals throughout the day may help maintain energy during treatment.

πŸ’› Mental Health β€” Be Kind to Yourself

Living with a serious illness or caring for someone who is, can bring a wide range of emotions. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or discouraged. Give yourself permission to experience those feelings without judgment.

  • ❀️ Take a few deep breaths when you feel stressed
  • ❀️ Stay connected with family, friends or your faith community
  • ❀️ Focus on one day at a time
  • ❀️ Reach out for professional support if feelings of sadness or anxiety become overwhelming

Remember: Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness β€” you don't have to face your journey alone.

When compassion becomes action, hope becomes possible. Thank you for walking beside our recipients and their families.
