This month, Compassion in Action 831 Inc is honored to support Lupe Ortiz. She and her family are navigating an ongoing medical journey.
In February 2024, Lupe was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. After chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, the family celebrated the news that she was cancer-free. Earlier this year, however, doctors discovered two new cancerous tumors in her spine. She has recently completed another series of radiation treatments and is awaiting further testing to determine the next steps.
Lupe and her husband, Juan, moved their family to Coarsegold in 2022 and work hard operating their small business, Dulceria Tradición Mexicana. While supporting Lupe through treatment, they are also helping Lupe's father, who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer in Mexico.
Lupe has faced each challenge with remarkable courage. Her resilience and positive spirit continue to inspire everyone who knows her.
The past two years have brought tremendous challenges, but Lupe continues to meet each day with strength, grace, and hope. Through it all, she leans on the love and support of her family, especially Juan, and remains devoted to her children.
This month, we invite our community to surround Lupe with encouragement, love, and practical support as she and her family continue this journey together.
